Old Barn

Back in the old days before digital, I had a Minolta X700 film camera. I used to take barn and ranch pictures...both in my area, and while I was on vacation. Then you had to send them in, wait for the results, and hope for the best.

There was a "full-of-character" old barn in my city that I always wanted to snap...but kept putting it off. One day I went by, and it was leveled...soon to be a Big Boy restaurant with a parking lot. I missed my picture.

I drive by this old beauty on the way to pick up my doctor. It also had some real character. I love how the brick and the metal come together. I like the roof vents and the silo, and how the greenery is trying to overtake some parts. I usually like my barns red, but this white is very appealing.

Although I've never farmed...I do like to observe farms and their spreads. I like to imagine where the neighhhhh-sayers come out, and which end holds the moooo-hoooo-ers. The smells just add to the mystique. I also like the outbuildings, and try to guess what is in them.

I don't miss the film camera days, and while I did miss the one shot...I wasn't going to miss this one. I would love to be able to explore the inside.
