The workings of a computer

Last night we invited good friends over for a meal and had a lesson on the workings of a computer. In my eyes Trevor is an absolute genious and even though he is a complete computer boffin he tries really hard to explain things simplistically to me (which takes some doing!).

This is the inside of my lovely computer which Trev took apart. I have to admit that I was quite nervous as I love my Mac and was worried that something would go wrong. However, he managed to successfully exchange my old hard drive for a brand new 1TB hard drive, giving me loads of space for years of blipping! He then put my old hard drive into an enclosure so that I can use it as an external hard drive as our other one is used for Time machine. He spoke to us about how to save our data safely which was very interesting as he has a different take on everything else that we have read or heard.
