Blue Lady

Happy Yorkshire Day, everyone. Today I thought I'd combine a walk check with meeting a friend and her one-year-old for lunch. It's been one of those strength-sapping muggy days where the city air stings your eyes and your nostrils fill with traffic fumes. I completed the first half of the walk, then met the friend in the park and we mooched around and chatted then had a pleasant lunch. I completed the walk check but failed to take any decent photos, so I decided to hop on a tram to Meadowhall, and walk along the canal to see what was around. The only thing which I saw was this nice little female common blue which settled by the path. Didn't have my macro with me, so the shot could have been sharper.
Hoping for fresher weather tomorrow. We are planning to start the Cuckoo Way - a long-distance path which follows the Chesterfield Canal from Chesterfield to the River Trent, so there may be narrowboats, barges and such to come.
