Lady's Tower

From her sitting room window in Elie House, Lady Anstruther could see this tower. She had it built as a changing room for her use only, when she fancied a dip in the sea at Ruby Bay. She would sent a bell ringer round to let the residents know that they should keep away from the bay!!!

This same "Lady" had an entire village cleared away as it blocked her view from another window in Elie House as she looked towards Kilconquhar Loch.

A curse was placed on Elie House for seven generations by an old resident of the village. Elie House was a Nunnery fro 30 years until about 1965 when it lay silent and falling into disrepair. Recently it has been refurbished and is a beautiful looking building housing 13 apartments and, soon to be built, 3 orangeries.

Hopefully the curse has done its time...
