National Dance Day

This is the second time around for that new 'observance' which was enacted into legislation last year.

It was originally pushed by, of all things, a reality show called "So You Think You Can Dance" in which dancers compete for first place over a period of several months. It gained momentum last year, when dancing was cast as an activity that might get Americans off their duffs and into shape. Maybe it will. For me, something I do for fun now sounds ominously like a chore... ;)

Anyway, there were gatherings all over the U.S. and this is a pic from one of the many dancers featured in Washington. For more, see here.
