Vive la Vie

So, just where is the playground?

Today we decided to take a trip to Namur which is the gateway to The Ardennes and therefore hilly. Hubby had read about a great playground with playgrounds for different ages, trampolines, bouncy castles, go-karting etc, located behind the Citadel, so we set off with great enthusiasm. When we arrived in Namur we went to the tourist information place who gave us a map of the area and pointed out the play area, and told us about a bus that we could catch.

We don't need a bus, we thought. It doesn't look far on the map. Famous last words.
One and a half hours later of steep climbing and we still couldn't find the bloody thing. The map was rubbish and we realised had no scale on it. I was grumpy and had all kinds of thoughts running around in my head about writing a letter of complaint about their poor map and the lack of signage and to not let my husband decide what we do in the future. However the kids and hubby, to my shame, were still happy and willing to keep looking.

My daughter's enthusiasm would have melted you as she was so excited when we finally found it and she had walked the entire way up some very steep hills (which is unheard of for her as she doesn't really like walking!).

It really was a great play area as well.
