Today Toots was first in the door at the National Museum of Scotland.

I don't know who was more excited - her or me. I have such vivid memories of going there as a small child myself. It seemed amazing then but we were blown away by it today.

It is truly fantastic - utterly amazing - and a whole host of other superlatives. The team there should be proud of themselves.

We didn't manage to explore very much - I think it's safe to say we will be regulars through the winter. But we managed some time in the animal gallery and a piece of cake.

Toots wants to go back tomorrow. How can I say no?
