Rodents rule

The mowers

They'll literally make short work of this. The grass doesn't grow fast enough!

I haven't much to report today. I had a pleasant cycle ride into work with a few traffic jams due to refuse lorries, but that's when a bicycle comes in handy. I can walk around them via the pavement and start cycling down the empty road. There were a couple of shouty incidents between drivers this morning due to getting stuck, but the rubbish has to be taken away sometime.

Talking of cycling, there's a critical mass tomorrow and I'm thinking of attending. I haven't been on one before, but this time I'm with the cycling masses in their anger against Transport for London (TfL). TfL are planning a motorway-style layout for Blackfriar's Bridge that has virtually no cycle provision. Two cyclists were killed on the bridge in 2003 and 2004. Last month, the London mayor, and Labour, Lib Dem, Greens and Conservative London Assembly members all voted to review TfL's plans for the bridge.

Despite the ruling of the mayor and the London Assembly, TfL are going ahead with their plans this weekend. London's cyclists have planned a critical mass go-slow over the bridge during Friday evening rush hour and also at Monday morning rush hour. Read more about it here.
