Jaws

This part of a dahlia reminds me of a sandworm or a sarlacc. Either way, it's sci-fi.

The plant is the newest addition to the back garden and I'm hoping it survives the tortoise and the snail squadron. So far, the only flowering plants to survive are geraniums and hollyhocks.

A fantastic handyman came round to sort out bits and bobs around the flat - trimming down kickboards under the kitchen units, fixing a shelf on to the wall, tidying up an unsightly gap under the kitchen door, and sanding down and varnishing the garden table. He did all this by lunchtime! I stumbled across him on twitter - he's a handyman with a bicycle and we were following the same cycling campaign in London. I saw him mentioned and realized that he was local. Hooray!
