DYB, DYB,DYB !
Oh for the days of "Do Your Best ! " Everthing worked and was made to last.
After several phone calls and a bit of a runaround I finally got through to the correct department of the insurance company to report my broken camera .So I now await another return call from the department who specialise in photographic equipment, will have to go through the whole process of describibg what happened and hopefully they will get the camera fixed or replaced. This might mean them sending a courier with a special package in which to place my sorry camera which will then be sent to Jessop's who will then examine said camera and advise on what must be done. I did suggest that I could get it to Jessops myself but apparently that is not how things are done.
However on a brighter note tonight I collected my 400D which I had lent to a friend. So off course I had to get a blip for tonight. Next gripe, why can't Canon make the controls etc work in the same way in all their cameras? I had to re learn how my old camera worked.
Anyway I had a lot of fun setting up tonight's blip using a very old chart from Cub Scouting days. I must add this was already an heirloom , long before my time as Akela. I thought it added a touch of the good old days , when things worked , to the shot of my collection of old cameras. The Ricoh in the middle still works so I intend to buy film and re acquant myself with the pre- digital age.
Large is a real nostalgia trip for ex cubs and Scouts and the old cameras well worth looking at.
