To small kindnesses (a wooly leaf)
I took a lot of my "standard" pictures today, some semi abstract tree bark, a dandelion, more textures (crumbling paint, bricks), the number 23 and two trying-to-be-clever you-might-not-guess-what-it-is shot of car headlights.
Then I saw this glove, carefully stashed in the branches of the hedge by the sidewalk. It's a rather funny sight, then you think that someone might be upset to have lost their glove. Then you realise that some kind person has obviously found it and put it as safely as possible somewhere where it would be visible yet stay clean.
It made me think of all the small kindnesses people do, that dont always get noticed or thanked. The person who sees keys forgotten on a train and takes the time to go jump out of the train, risking to be late, just to give them back or hand them to the staff. The driver who takes an extra large distance when overtaking a cyclist, because he/she knows how it feels. The one who notices something in a dangerous location and moves it, so nobody slips on it later. The person who gives you an extra coin when you are at the coffee shop and suddenly realise you dont have enough cash. The person who takes extra time to show you on your way when you ask for directions. The person who told the staff that there is no longer any toilet paper just before you got there... We have all been grateful to that person - and we have all been that person.
I hope that girl finds her glove again
