'Cross' doesn't even come close...

A great day out at Legoland was somewhat marred by the group of 18 people who pushed in front of the hundreds of us who'd queued for nearly an hour to get on the boating ride.

They had one woman and a child in the queue then after about 20 minutes more proceeded to push through. When my friend and I started blocking them, the rest trooped down the exit, went past the people who'd paid for fast-track tickets and despite the ride attendants telling them they couldn't go on they simply started pushing their kids onto the boats - even before the previous people had got out!

There are many circumstances in which I would let people go in front of me but this was absolutely appalling. Only my friend and I and one set of grandparents made any protest. Afterwards I went up to them and asked them if they thought that was acceptable behaviour, to which they replied 'Why don't you care that we have children?' and 'There is so much hate..'. Eh? Helllllll-ooooooo - it's Legoland - we ALL have children! And as for 'hate', on the contrary, you've got to love how this little microcosm of society mirrors a world where the vast majority of people perfectly able to stick up for themselves stand by and do nothing while they're walked all over.

Add to this the complete apathy from others when I was trying to stop someone else's child from running off (the parents were someway ahead and completely oblivious to it all) and the children left alone in a queue for a ride they were too young for, leading to a search for their parents by the staff, I've never been so glad to get home.
