Golden Pond
A midgey morning in Ullapool, we headed down early to get in the ferry queue and enjoy the shore breeze.
A pleasant enough ferry trip, too choppy for whale and dolphin sightings. The mainland hills kept us company as we were introduced to the island hills.
Quick visit to shops for supplies and then over to the west coast of Lewis. A nice cottage and then a visit to the beach and the shore. Great views to the south with a heavy swell crashing onto the cliffs.
Tired eco family stayed in while I took a stroll up a hill. The peat fires were on and the air was full of that great smell. I walked up through the peat banks, handed down through the generations and drying in the warm air, A nice craggy hill with views in every direction, the mainland hills distant shadows and the Flannan Isles breaking the blue horizon.
A wave from the summit to the family in the garden.
The sun was trying to set with style but the blanket cloud won out.
