Exploring . . .
All the villages along the coast of Fife, out on the East Neuk, are similar but different. Some are more geared to water sports, canoeing, kayaking and sailboarding and the like, whereas others are much more traditional with fishing boats going out for crabs and lobsters.
They all have little winding lanes, steps heading down to the harbour, whitewashed cottages with the windows and doors edged in blues or other seaside shades and crowstepped gables. The whole atmosphere is one of laid back beach living and a holiday way of life, but there are still greengrocers, chemists, post offices and libraries carrying on their day to day existence and folk going about their normal working lives.
We are having such a wonderfully relaxed time, super to have nothing which you need, or have, to do! I can see these holiday thingies really catching on!
