One A Day 2011

He had a screw loose!

If you thought you were having a bad day, spare a thought for my good friend, Rhys.

A few years ago, Rhys had a brain operation. Recently, one of the screws in his skull began to bother him. He went to see the Dr. and the Dr. said that the screw needed to come out.

So on Monday, Rhys visited the hospital. He was wheeled into the theatre where a surgeon sliced open the skin on top of his head with a blade, took the screw out of his skull and stitched him back up again.

And the worst thing? It was all done under local anaesthetic! Rhys said the injection into his head was the most painful part of the operation followed by the stitches that extended into a part of his skin that wasn't anaesthetised.

The picture is of the actual screw (against a match for scale). A perfectly cut 100% titanium self tapping, posidrive screw.

Now stop moaning about your day and get back to work!
