An Evening with Rufus, Martha and Loudon Wainwrigh
This was the best evening of the week so far. The process was helped along by a few glassess of bubbles in the champagne bar before the show (and during the interval).
Loudon opened with a set that was enertaining, thought provoking and at times emotional. I'm not sure if the Opera House quite knew what had hit it with the opener of "Rufus is a Tit Man" but we loved it. What was really interesting from my perspective was to hear through Loudon's songs the other side of the story that Rufus tells. Another Song in C was one of the highlights of this part of the evening. (just beautiful) Lucy then came on and her voice was incredible followed by Martha who was less intense than the last two performances as can be seen in the Blip.
The second half with Rufus started in the same was as Tuesday but the version of Tower of Learning sends shivers so I am not complaining. for the first time ever I managed to hold it together all the way through Dinner at Eight only to lose it completely as Loudon sang the refrain in Poses (Powerful stuff!)
