Bad Concerning news: - Life changing
By the time children turn three years old, they have already been exposed to the bombardment of television ads that hold up a certain standard of beauty. I've seen studies with pre-TV age infants where they were presented with images of beautiful people and very homely people. All infants, male or female, respond more favorably toward beauty. There is no doubt that we are hard wired to gravitate toward a beautiful, thin person, as it somehow also implies good health and success. The implications for someone who doesn't fit into that mold is rather scary though, as they go through life at a distinct advantage.

Good-Encouraging news: - Taking it seriously
The gruesome fate that befalls many rhinos just so their horns can be sold to some under-evolved Neanderthals who believe it makes more virile if you ingest it, is so horrendous and cruel that it gags me to even think about it. They are shot, sometimes not even dead when their horn is crudely hacked out. Then they are left to bleed to death. It's about time the military steps in to put a stop to this.
