The nature of the remote crofting communities on this remote part of the west coast of Scotland encourages visitors and local residents alike to share in the home grown bounty on offer. Honesty boxes are to be found at the gates to many crofts selling eggs and fresh fruit and vegetables.

We stopped at this garden on several occasions to dig for potatoes, pick herbs and fresh, beautiful strawberries.
