It's been a trifle damp.
"If, on St. Swithin's day, it rain
for forty days it will remain."
BUGGER!
I really thought we'd got away with it. It was after tea-time when it struck.
Several days of sun, causing watering of the plants, and going off for the day etc. On the 14th I emptied one of the gallon Demijohns over a newly planted Kalmia.
Today it rained "piss-istantly" and when it wasn't doing that it was chucking it down in stair-rods and bouncing off the road.
I had replaced the Demijohn under where the drips fall from the shed. Bear in mind that the neck of a demijohn is, as near as dammit 1". The water in this one represents today's offering.
Like I said, it's been a trifle damp and the pidjins had had enough exposure for a while.
