From the Pacific North West to a North Sea beach

It is 3 years since my younger son, Pieter, went to visit his brother Kjell, who moved to Portland, Oregon 8 years ago. Kjell had met and married Kim, a lovely and gifted professional photographer there. Pieter met and married Keven, a lovely and gifted Digital Marketer and stayed there, 5000 miles away. In April Kjell and Kim came to visit us in the far North East of beautiful Northumberland. This week it was Pieter and Keven's turn. Tonight Rob and I took them for a great meal at our favourite pub/resturant, The Oaks, near us in Alnwick. It was a beautiful evening so afterwards we drove 4 miles to Alnmouth, on the North Sea coast and wandered on the beach for an hour or so. The Arctic Terns took objection and made their feelings very clear as hundreds rose up in the air before Pieter and Keven. It was after 9.30 pm when we left but still full daylight this far north. The North Sea is much warmer than the Pacific Ocean on the beaches of Oregon! A relaxing time of laughing, loving and enjoying good food, conversation and company.
