My fruit bowl runneth over

I love this time of the year, whatever the vagaries of our weather, the cheap and abundant supply of soft fruits is a delight to the eye and the palate! Just popped down to the Alnwick Market Place this morning, went to our usual 'shouty man'. He serves me with a smile, asked why my Rob (husband) was not with me, packed all my goodies into my bag, charged me a very low price for them and hoped Rob would be feeling better soon - all the while, hardly pausing for breath, in-between sentences, he kept up his calls of "Strawberries, get yer Scottish strawberries, cherries are perfect, get your Kent raspberries, peaches 4 for £1.50" , all at the top of his voice, you can hear him from two streets away! Why go to supermarkets when this is all there, good human contact, fresh and ripe fruit for a fraction of the supermarket price! Anyone want a strawberry?
