"Orienteering is a serious sport, Pam!"

Pam's having far too much fun! She also had the best of the day to finish her course in, you can see the weather clouds gathering behind her, so this was also the most technicolour blip of the day. Today's event was in Goldenacre Park near Leeds, a place I had not visited since I was a child and it was (and is) a great place for families. Apparently it was opened as an amusement park in 1930 and boasted a miniature railway, a monorail, boats and ponies. There is a rather large and splendid photograph in the cafe showing what it looked like. Sadly it closed in 1938 and then the council took it on in the forties. The orienteering was undemanding technically as the area is so open, but it was very enjoyable and great to be out in the sunshine in the first part of the day.
