Sunday afternoon walk around The Aberdeen Art Gallery with my six year old daughter, Holly. It was her first visit. She asked me to take her along the next time that I went.

It gave me the chance to introduce her to my favourite painting.

"Flood In The Highlands" was painted by Sir Edwin Landseer and was inspired by a real incident, a sudden flash flood that devastated the valleys at the foot of the Cairngorms and Monadhliath mountains on 3-4 August 1829.

Landseer's other works include this majestic looking beasty, which is surely one of Scotland's most iconic images.
And without Landseer, Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square would be short of four large bronze lions.
