The Prodigal Medal

Following on from his recent primary 7 successes, my son John also won an athletic medal that was awarded to him during his final day at primary school.

I however, didn't get the chance to see the award due to his very suspicious excuse that "A girl took it from him on the way home"

Today was John's 12th Birthday. He wanted to go to the cinema to see Transformers 3. "Why don't we make a day of it?" His mother offered, "Ask a friend along and we can go to Jimmy Chungs as well"

Well, you can imagine our surprise when he informed us last night that the friend he had asked along on his jolly birthday jaunt was............a girl.

His "friend" that just also happens to be a "Girl" but not his "Girlfriend", Turned up today with a card laden with monetary value and also a wrapped gift.
You guessed it, she gave him his medal back.

I like this girl.
