My mind's eye?

My mind's eye tells me that the roads were bigger than they actually are and our local church was smaller than it actually is.

The house (in fact the whole neighbourhood) where I was born, 67 years ago has been demolished.

Virtually all the original houses have disappeared (ready for new build regeneration) - but this grand old church of St. Dunstan, Liverpool 7, stands defiant - St. Dunstan has stood the ravages of time which have included the Liverpool Blitz of WW2. Hopefully, St. Dunstans will go on to serve the next generation of "scousers".
