Sunrise at Kaikoura

I really enjoyed the sunrise this morning - up early, feeling the cold air on my face, all wrapped up with hat, gloves and jacket, listening to the waves roll in while the horizon was ablaze with golden colour.

Many photos were taken as the dawn woke from darkness, it was breathtaking. I loved the light on the beach enhancing the tracks, capturing the waves with the golden haze at the bottom of the mountains and then just touching the mountain tops as if giving them a nudge - hey its time to wake up!

This was my view every morning we were here, just opened the curtains, there were the Norfolk pines, the sea, the sunrise and the mountains - total bliss!!!

A day of walking round the small town of Kaikoura by the sea, looking at old buildings, churches and learning more about the history of this whaling town.
