Small Tortoiseshell

Went for a little walk up the back this morning and happened to find this beautiful Small Tortoiseshell lying sunbathing in the grass. I think it's a freshly emerged adult from the second generation as it looks in excellent condition. I was actually after a photo of the Ringlet butterfly as there were a couple flying low across the long grass but they just wouldn't settle for long enough. I'm happy with this though as haven't seen a Small Tortoiseshell for a while.
