Forgotten grandeur

TEMPORARY CLARIFICATION: This isn't my 1500th blip. The actual 1500th upload is a back-blipped image from our recent holiday in Norway, Russia and Finland. Congratulatory comments should be directed here.

I met friends for morning coffee at a really nice place in Terenure. We met at 11.00, and I was on my way back home by 12.30 or so. I'd almost stopped on the way over as I passed Saint Patrick's Park (beside the cathedral), but didn't, so I made up for it as I reached it on the return journey. The weather was glorious, despite forecasts of cloud and rain, and the park was quite busy with people lounging and strolling around. It's a place I've never been to before because I always seem to be passing by when I'm around there. It was good to make up for years of neglect, and I really enjoyed the 30 minutes or so I spent there.

I mulled over it quite a bit when it came to choosing a blip, almost going for this unorthodox view of St Patrick's Cathedral instead, or maybe even this one. There'd also been the Literary Parade, which is a hangover from the Dublin Millennium celebrations in 1988.

After much agonising, I plumped for this view from the Park of The Liberties College, which I don't remember having noticed before. It's certainly an imposing building, and I see from the College web site that it dates from the early Twentieth Century. It looked its best in today's sunshine, and in Blipfoto terms looks its best big.
