Independence Day Snack
At the local Independence Day Car Show this turquoise 1955 Chevy Bel Air is set up to reconstruct a stop at Drive In Restaurant, wildly popular in the day. This 1950's snack is a Hamburger and a Banana Split. They are surviving admirably in the heat of the 90 degree sunshine.
Today is the 236th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence for the Colonies that were to become the United States of America. We remember the day with pride and celebrate speaking out against a tyrant.
From Wikipedia: Plato and Aristotle define a tyrant as, "one who rules without law, looks to his own advantage rather than that of his subjects, and uses extreme and cruel tactics -- against his own people as well as others".
There are yet more tyrannies that must be overcome. We hope that soon other Countries will soon have Independence Days so that their peoples can enjoy the freedoms that we so often take for granted.
