QUACKERS

It was the village duck race this afternoon at 3pm, so had to dash out mid-Wimbledon men's final.

Probably the fastest duck race we have had as there was plenty of water in the River Aire, and they swept past in a flotilla of bouncy yellow plastic. The ducks we had purchased for the day did not win, but I found a bargain book on one of the stalls. And even though it was men's finals day, it was such beautiful weather that the event was well attended, and there were many laughing, happy children playing in the river.

I know I used to do the same when I was young, but now I cannot imagine how they manage to hop about on the sharp and slippery stones and rocks so painlessly!

Glad to be "back" and hope to catch up with you all soon.
