Ollies Tail
Ollie has had a traumatic few weeks. He was kenneled for 2 days just outside the Heathrow perimeter fence, directly opposite Terminal 5 and just about 200yds from the end of a runway. Deafening at times !
He then had a 30 hour journey to Auckland by Air New zeland, paying business class rates but stuck in a wooden crate. He arrived 2 weeks ago, the flight was due in at 5.45am and we were there at 6.30am to collect him. Unfortunately the flight was about 90 minutes late but we eventually received the clearance papers from MAF. We then had a short walk to the International terminal to get Customs clearance, back to Air Cargo to pay the dues. Round the corner to hand the papers to the storeman, who directed us to a large roller shutter door which eventually opened revealing Ollie in his crate in this enormous warehouse.
Effusive welcome, followed by the longest pee recorded and straight in to the car to start the 4 hour journey North to Rangitane, on a hot sunny day.
He was obviously a stressed and wouldn't leave our sides for about a week.
Bri once described Ollies tail as short and stubby, maybe but well travelled as well !
