The Party's Over ...
The big day has been and gone, and it was an all-round success. About a dozen old school friends plus some wives came for the bun-fight. The sun shone throughout, the company was wonderful, the food was of the highest order and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Mrs jml and her sister, Mrs Holly and her sister (from the US) ran the kitchen like clockwork, and all thanks to them.
Jess & Molly were brilliant. They were on best behaviour throughout. They co-operated with having bows tied to their collars, they did not jump up on the guests, they appeared to enjoy the bagpipes (first exposure to this instrument). Most of the time they stayed away from the crowd, but they were not entirely off on their own. From time to time they each came to say hello, but there was no outright mooching from anyone.
Even when the 'official' photographs were being taken, they were very well behaved. They sat in front of the group quite happily, and even looked at the camera when asked.
All in all, I had a number of photographs which I could have blipped. A close runner-up to this one was taken in the front room, while we were all having coffee & cake. Jess is eying the cake (on a table just at her eye-level), but she did not go for it. Well done girl!
Instead, I chose this one from after all the guests had gone. Mrs jml and her sister had not had a chance to eat very much while on kitchen-duty, so they sat down to catch up with some of the best items from the menu. They were not aware of me, up at the bedroom window, photographing them below. But Jess & Molly knew I was there. They sat patiently at the table, waiting for the plate-licks which they deserved and got.
A thoroughly excellent day!
