Essence of Bellingham

I entered five photos (all blips) in the City of Bellingham's annual Essence of Bellingham competition this year and got four honorable mentions. The photos were on display downtown this evening as part of the monthly Art Walk. C and I went to see them and were very disappointed. The lighting in the display location was very dim, and it didn't help that two of my photos were printed much darker than the original image. I hope none of my friends see them.

My blip for today was going to be me standing next to one of my photos, so we had to find a replacement. I decided to shoot this street scene with the polished granite seats and the hanging flower baskets -- not terribly exciting, but I was desperate. I had to wait a few minutes for a large group of unphotogenic pedestrians to leave the area before I was able to get a clear view. Then the Blip Goddess smiled on me and sent these cyclists to jump over the granite seats. Thank you, B.G.
