Is what the guy said to me, when I asked if he didn't mind me taking a photo of him working, in his alfresco garage, on this well lived-in Beetle!!

Thing is, they really love their VWs down here and they drive them until they literally fall asunder. I've seen battered, old taxis that look like they've gone 12 rounds w/Mike Tyson in his hey-day, still sputtering along the motorways w/nothing but twine and prayers-to-saints holding them together.

I really am getting to love this city.
