A Very Old Moon.
The crescent Moon looks very far away, farther and smaller than usual. Nearly two days from New, thin and elegant, our satellite familiar emerges into our sky very early in the morning, hanging almost forgotten and unseen over the harbour cranes, less than eighty minutes from Sunrise.
From Leith, it is often quite tricky to see her in Summertime; rolling low along the horizon, in and out of the chimney pots along the skyline of our street as she coyly rises and sets.
