This is not an April Fool's Day joke

I was driving home from work this evening, contemplating a blip and looking at the ever changing cloud formations - I know that sounds sad - but I was a bit perturbed when I noticed this yellow haze over the nearby town.

I have been watching this intermittent haze for about 8 years - its started very small and far away being only visible in the early mornings. Its been sneaking its way slowly up the River Forth in the past few years and I had noticed it near Longniddry a few months ago. This however is the first time I've seen it near home.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the -

500 acre petrochemical plant 45 miles away that manufactures up to 10 million tonnes of chemical products a year at Grangemouth

Or perhaps the coal fuelled power station 8 miles away in Cockenzie that boasts burning up to one and half million tonnes of coal a year and belches out plummes of black smoke daily.

Or perhaps the A1 - main trunk route from Edinburgh to England and beyond..

Maybe this is the wake up call we all need to have proof of global warming is now on our own doorstep and the part we play...

Sorry about the rant - but I need to let off steam - maybe that too would contribute - better calm down!
