In Brief, for once...

Light from within the darkness

There is an amazing art installation that comes to my school every year. It's basically a large black wooden box about 2 metres by
1.5 metres, and there are "windows" in it filled by these amazing "kirie" (silhouette) style pictures. They are made of layers of silhouettes cut out and collaged together, and then a light shines out from inside he box and highlights all the beautiful colours.
Every year the new staff and 1st years gasp with delight when they turn the corner and see it for the first time.
Nice to have something in your life which makes you smile spontaneously.
This is one of my favourite windows, depicting prayers from Hiroshima for a non nuclear future.
