Lilly

Anyone reading this journal will have realised that the pond is a feature of our garden. The water lilies have just appeared and this pink one is a favourite. This particular flower emerged immediately under the little waterfall and was swamped, which usually leads to rot. I moved it slightly and it has recovered beautifully. The thick, shiny leaves - and there seem to be more of them each year, now covering half its surface - provide cover for the fish and add colour to the pond.
