At exactly 16.00 hours we are on deck of the Northlink ferry ready to sail from Aberdeen to Lerwick.
We have the travel-sickness pills, the waterproofs, the cosy hats, the maps and tourist information safely stowed in the cabin and hope for a calm sea and a good night's sleep.
