The Pont d'Avignon, France

........ an early start driving from Paris finishing up at Avignon via the Chateau de Chasselas for some wine tasting :)

Avignon is famous as the city to which the Popes fled when leaving the corruption of Rome in the 14th Century and teh Palace of the Papes is a beautiful building unfortunately we didn't arrive in time to go inside :(

The story of the Pont d'Avignon can be read here miles better than I could tell the story. I like the reflections on this shot, although the view from the other side is prettier - it was hard work hand holding the camera of course had D packed less clothes then perhaps we would have had room for a tripod
