I'm The Star Up In The Sky......

Tonight was Prize Giving.

Last year, it lasted almost 3 hours. The Rector read the school calendar, and I seriously mean "read". August 13, School Came Back in, August 16, Maths Class had a Competition"; for every entry on the calendar from August thru start of June. It took 50 minutes.

He wasn't there this year, (parent power does mean something), and we had a stand in, who managed to announce the whole calendar, in one breath and in 12 minutes.

Then there were the prizes, and a bit of music.

It was made more entertaining tonight, because Tooli and her Co-Captain, were doshing out the prizes to the "invited Guests", who were presenting. It was highly entertaining to watch them take turn about and loose place of where they were.

There was a rather amusing point in the proceedings, where Ian who was sitting next to us fell asleep, and I managed to get a rather nice photo of him, and upload it to facebook before we finished.

Then at the close of the evening, I held my breath as the outgoing Head Boy and Head Girl, read their closing speeches and said their good byes. My friend's son was Head Boy, and I had a lump in my throat as I watched her watch her boy speak about his year as Captain.

Then the Head Boy and Girl, and their Vice's handed over their badges to this year's counterparts. It's official. Tooli is now Head Girl, and she has a badge what says that!!

Yay!
