I never did catch fish
I'd love to go fishing, to sit and relax beside a river and watch nature slowly drift by. Lose myself in the countryside watching water and its endless predictability, it comes it goes, well until it soaks you perhaps. I'd love the challenge of catching a fish and landing one, well if I could do so without actually inflicting any pain, that is what stops me. That said, if other people choose to do it, it is indeed a free country.
This is what I'd be listening to I think as I cast my line.
But often I watch people on river banks, on boats and think for once in my life, I'd really like to be there in your shoes. As life gets more and more complicated, we seem to revert to the simplest things for our pastimes, our parents and our parents' parents did not have to deal with emails, data, electronics, multi-tasking, children with all of the above and other requirements. Which is maybe where taking photos has a part in my life.
When I think about it, I know that relaxation and enjoying simple things are what should make me tick and invariably they do. So this is a celebration of the simple pleasures, I'm sure for my neighbour catching this 9lbs fish (coincidentally the weight I was when I was born) it was not a simple task.
Beautiful day today, but head splittingly busy.
I think I shall take up fishing for sticks.
