Ride of The Valkyries

I have been listening recently to a lot of podcasts from Desert Island Discs, and wondered why in a lot of them, people who you wouldn't necessarily expect, chose a piece of classical music as one of their discs.
So I had a think and imagined that if I was on the programme, the 8 tunes I would pick; and you know what? Without really noticing I selected Wagner's Ride of the Valkyrie.
I think it is a wonderfully stirring piece of music, and it was also the signature tune, if you like, of The Parachute regiment.
Since my dad was in the Paras for many years; since this is Father's Day, and since this is the my first Father's Day without him, he passed away last year, this is for him.
