Disparate Housecats of Daytona Beach, episode 10
The Distant Clap of Transformation - Sidd and Mirl truly shun electrical storms. The planet of their ancestry has no such events. There, without lightning, shape-shifting Silvestris mystics of the highest rank have full control of their abilities. On Earth, however, the discharge of electricity affects the mental discipline necessary to maintain their felimorphic appearance. A nearing thunderhead will cause them to freeze in place and change form rapidly. Usually Dave can quickly administer a mild sedative - Cat-A-Tonic - to calm this reaction. But today's storm is severe and Mirl's head repeatedly mimics a Christmas tree ornament in the shape of a dark-haired Renaissance angel he once saw in an Italian fresco. Fortunately, Sidd only curls into the position of sleeping pottos. He knew such creatures well when he did inter-species mission work in Côte d'Ivoire. Poor, poor pussies - so misunderstood.
