Badge of Honour.....

.....Scouts was a bit flat last night, Colin told the kids he was finishing up after the summer and since it was the last troop night of term, it was effectively his last night. Cue bad behaviour; a weird evening.

As 'acting-up in role' Scout Leader I've now inherited several plastic boxes of Scout kit, which Nancy eyed with deep suspicion when I brought it in from the car.

The rain did fall along with the spirits of the people around me. I rather like a good blob of rain (when I'm not camping) so I felt quite cheery. Everything was wet, but we're a green country for a reason.

The humour of children is so much more sophisticated now. Adam, "What did the cheese say when he looked in the mirror?", "I don't know", said Owen, "Haloumi", said Adam......I didn't even know what Haloumi was when I was 9 years old.
