Storm clouds
This is what the sky looks like before it rains. The rainy season is well and truly under way now and there is rain most days. It's nothing like rain in England though! In the morning it is usually fine and dry but very hot and humid. Gradually it gets hotter, the humidity increases and the clouds build up. Suddenly it gets very windy and then the thunder ,lightning and rain starts. It absolutely pours! The Cambodian people are very cheerful throughout the storms. Many roads get flooded but everyone carries on as best they can. The moto taxis and tuk tuks continue to run until they grind to a halt usually in the middle of a big puddle. Everyone puts on brightly coloured waterproof ponchos and parents often cover their children with upturned polythene bags!!The rain only lasts for a couple of hours and then everyone makes as much use of the water as they can. The children play in it and the adults use it for fishing ,washing themselves, their clothes, their animals and their vehicles.
