The scenery in the Dolomites is quite incredible. This morning we started in a valley with steep monoliths on either side, very reminiscent of Yosemite.

Then as we were ascending a trail with 3000' of altitude gain, some young girls from Alaska, about 9 and 13 years old, scampered by.

Sigh. Youth wasted on the young.
