Old lace

I bought this old tablecloth recently and finally got round to washing and ironing it, to put over my blue cloth to look pretty! This is just one of the corners, and there are smaller panels of lace in between, too. Chris reckons it looks too old fashioned, but then, that's youth for you! I'm not saying it will be in everyday use, but it will come out for special occasions, I think, and I, for one, will enjoy looking at it and using it.

I tried my hand at lace making some twenty odd years ago and still have all the stuf. I found it very time consuming and fiddly, but the results were very rewarding indeed! The amount of lace that is in this tableclothe must have taken an amazingly long time to make and I was thinking that as it took me quite a long time to iron it! I appreciate things that have taken time and effort to accomplish, so I will look after my new treasure!
