The (not so) quiet life

On The Beach

Another sunny day so we decided to take the Minions for a day out. Minion number ones only request was that she could take her bike and so we headed for Nairn which has a lovely beach and a long path running alongside. Perfect for little Hells Angels in training to terrorise unsuspecting dog walkers and buggy pushers. Minion number wo thoroughly enjoyed this part of the day as well as it meant she could indulge in her new favourite pastime- shouting at passers by. Her favourite phase by far is "good dog" which she shouts, very loudly, at all manner of things. Though she is also fond of "hiya" and "Gregor" and gets most offended if the object of her shouting fails to respond. This is all well and good when it is a human she is shouting at but she laso seems to expect a reply from dogs, birds and trees.

After lunch we headed for the beach. Minion number on discovered that sand is not the ideal surface for cycling on and so handed her bike over to the husband to pedal towards the car. This left both her and her sister free to comb the beach for shells and for Minion number two to shovel sand into her mouth.

Needless to say the fresh sea air left them both tired and the journey home was a lot more peaceful than the outward one. Minion number one did revive in time to go for a sleepover at her pals house so as an added bonus we were down a child for the evening.

Quote of the day: "Daddy, you are flipping poopy poo head" Minion number two. Scathing insult from a five year old.
