A friend's birthday.

We all had a pleasant surprise today when our neighbour turned up and said it was her son's birthday and she was going to take him and his friends out for pizza and then bring them back to our village to swim in her bosses swimming pool. The kids were delighted and so was I, as it meant I got a bit of time to spend with my husband, on our own. We went to a DIY store and then to the beach where we ate hamburgers and drank beer. There was supposed to be a ban on the sale of alcohol today as it was the general election, but that didn't stop the hotel we went to!
Sometimes I forget how lucky we are to live in a place like this, the grass is greener complex sets in, but once beach life starts again I suddenly remember.
